The House of Compassion is a community residence in
Cumberland, Rhode Island for those living with
HIV/AIDS. We maintain a home-like environment where
members are encouraged to act as a family.
Since 1994, the House Of Compassion has provided
case management, transportation and twenty-four hour
direct supervision for our residents.
The House Of Compassion has saved the state
thousands of dollars by keeping homeless patients from
interminable stays in hospitals and nursing homes.
The House of Compassion has been used in other parts
of the country as a model for financially effective
community housing.
The House of Compassion serves to bring a dignified
care and rehabilitation to those afflicted by substance
abuse, AIDS, and homelessness.
The House of Compassion is the only community
residence of it’s kind that allows it’s residents to
keep their pets! View history and video.
